Duration, Spread, and Cost

Fire grenades are not meant for getting kills; they are meant to deny space. You throw them into common hiding spots to force an enemy out into the open, or you throw them on a bomb to delay a defuse.

However, you must be aware of the recent balance changes that fundamentally altered how these grenades work on each side.

  • The T-Side Molotov ($400): Slower to deploy, but it burns for a longer duration and spreads aggressively to cover a massive area. It is the ultimate tool for executing onto a site and clearing deep corners.

  • The CT-Side Incendiary ($600): Valve nerfed the CT Incendiary to prevent endless stalling. It is significantly more expensive, burns for a much shorter duration, and has a smaller spread. You can no longer throw an Incendiary purely to delay; you must use it precisely to punish a fast rush or block a specific choke point.
